What’s up everybody! Over the past few years, I’m sure some of you noticed a particular spike in interest in seaweeds for health benefits; the most popular being Sea Moss.
Also known as Irish Sea Moss (Chrondus crispus), Sea Moss has had some interesting studies done over the years that highlight some interesting benefits for us fitness enthusiasts (a quick search on Pubmed.gov shows over 1700 studies that mention Irish Sea Moss).
Without getting into the weeds (haha, puns) Sea Moss is generally seen as a benefit for the following reasons:
- *Neuroprotective activity
- *Immune-Stimulating action
- *Antimicrobial activity
- *Source of Calcium 3 and Iodine
Now there is a word of caution when using Sea Moss, because of its Iodine content.
Overuse and heavy dosage of iodine containing substances can cause various medical effects/phenomenon linked to thyroid function.
If your in the market for some Sea Moss, pop over to your local Nutrition Corner and ask about Ambrosia Nutraceuticals Sea Moss product. Dosed at 500mg/serving it’s a low end dose of Sea Moss to aid in your body’s overall metabolic function!
